Information and help for Dart players
This is a collection of articles I wrote and published online during the latter years of my darts career, from about 1996 to 1999. I have been a semi-professional darts player from about 1991 to 1997.
I have been Austrian darts champion twice, in 1991 and 1993, played several times for the Austrian national team, and was the first Austrian darts player to achieve a
WDF world ranking (#92). You can find out
more about me here.
Articles I recommend
The first slump
An explanation of the different phases of a player's development. Highly recommended, especially when you are in a slump and feel terrible about your game. This has turned out to be the most popular article I wrote.
Articles about the mental game
I always liked to explore this part of the game the most, and I think this won me a lot of matches - and lost me a lot before I discovered that what goes on in your brain during play matters a lot! I especially recommend the articles about
Energy,
Visualizing and
Tension.
Dart technique
Throw, grip and stance - the basics of a successful dart technique.
Practicing
What you should do to improve, and how you should approach practicing.
