Left arrowThe Dart Thrower

The following is a collection of links that have nothing to do with darts.

First, other sites made by me:

Nightman's Home (German)
my personal Homepage

41 Fragen zum Zeitdiebstahl (German)
my contribution to the german online literature contest "Pegasus98"

Staatsliga B-Ost (German)
An Austrian Chess League where I do the press work, which includes the maintanance of this Webpage.

Bank Austria Chess Festival 1996 - 1000 years Austria (English)
My Chess Club organized this event which still is the biggest and strongest chess event the country has seen so far. It was one of the festivities organized to celebrate the 1000 years anniversary of my country's name.

Then, what I use regularly:

The Week in Chess by Mark Crowther (English)
The Week In Chess is the best chess magazine on the planet. Up-to-date, weekly, comprehensive, and free! For me this is the best site on the internet.
Chess is my favourite hobby, I even prefer it to darts. Just a pity that I'm much better at darts than at chess. For those who can use these figures - at the moment I have an Austrian  national ELO rating of 1957. That would mean USCF of slightly above 2000 (the USCF ratings' level is usually 100 points higher than the Austrian).

Tschaturanga (German)
The home page of my Viennese chess club - not designed by me, but I've already contributed with an article about one of my chess games.

Wien Online (German)
Who says governments never do good work? This site from the Vienna city government gives info on just everything you might want or have to do in my home city.

The Internet movie database (English)
Nearly every available information on almost every movie ever made. More than 180.000 titles searchable.

electronic journal + LITERATUR PRIMAER (German)
A very interesting Austrian online literature magazin.

Yahoo! (English) Yahoo! (German)
You really don't know Yahoo??

AltaVista (English)
I go here if searching with Yahoo! was not successful.

Digital's Babelfish Translation Service (various languages)
Not recommended for its original purpose, but for the originality of its misuse! I guess most Japanese/Korean electronic companies use this for translating their operating instructions. This link seems not the most reliable, it changed frequently during the last months. But if you search for "Babelfish" on AltaVista you will always be directed to the current location. I've had lots of fun translating TDT articles to German through the Babelfish!

If you know German just guess what TDT article this is in "translation":
Sie beginnen, weit in den Turnieren zu erhalten, wenn Talent sie gewinnen sogar einiges erlaubt, aber dann, nachdem Sachen einer Kurzschlusszeit gehaftet erhalten. Ihre Stufe des Spiels verringert sich, und manchmal stellt ihr Stern, während
schnell an ein, ist ist gestiegen.
Or, for even more fun, try to translate this paragraph back to English.

TUCOWS (English)
A great resource for downloading freeware and shareware. This site has various mirror sites in many countries. This link is to the Austrian mirror.

Now danger - this is nothing for the sensible. Finally, the weird:

Sam Sloan's Homepage (English)
I've thought some time about giving this guy a link - but why not, it's free speech. This site is full of "articles" written by Sam Sloan. Chess is dominating (watch out for his permanent accusations of the USCF - US Chess Federation - board members as mainly being a criminal bunch of idiots), but there is other stuff - Monica L., Sex in general, Bobby Fischer (note: that is not necessarily a story about chess), Mr Sloan against the government in the case of his kidnapped (?) daughter, Mr. Sloan threatened to be sued by X, Mr. Sloan replying in public quoting X's threat, Mr. Sloan about the conflict between Pakistan and India, Mr. Sloan about the Balkan situation, Mr. Sloan accusing company Y of owing Mr. Sloan money since 15 years, and so on...

Sam Sloan is also quite happy to send me (and others) from time to time emails with the latest developments in his life and the lifes of others, deliberately ignoring my unsubscribe requests. Oh, not to forget, he lately received an "asshole of the month" award, which he of course mentions on his website.

But, be warned again - this site is not intended to be funny. 99 percent of the content are dead serious. That makes Sam Sloan's homepage not only weird - it's eerie.

If you ever dare to visit this site and work through a couple of the articles, I'd really be interested in what you think about it! Please mail me at info@dartbase.com or use the eA HREF="feedback.htm">feedback form.
