| I wish there was more posts in the mindgame. I think darts is about somewhere from 80% to 99% mental control. There is alot of us that could be better from learning the mindgame part of darts. There is probably alot of people that could help out others here with different techniques and stuff. I had read where a guy said he was starting to aim, then he said I mean really some serious aiming. That one short sentence got me to thinking, alot of thinking more in depth than I ever had. I wasn't a fast thrower but I have slowed down and really started some serious concentrated aiming. It has really helped. for some reason it made something click in my head and I feel like I am more alert, clearer feeling at the line. It made find that visual effect that I have read about in hear but couldn't get a grasp on the inner feeling of it. My point being if that one sentence from that one guy helped me that much, how much more could all of you help me and others? This whole web site has helped me greatly. Alot of good info here. It is a shame that there is not more going on in the forums! |

I agree, From what I have gathered from people the mental aspect is the last thing they try, they try to change the grip or stance or throw but I think that comes from us as humans like to physically see, feel, touch to fix something, thinking we can use our mental abilities to improve/fix our game is like having no control, its unreliable, I hope this makes sense!!
I know I sometimes think like that,It HAS to be something wrong with my throw or something else, how could just thinking "I'm a dart player, I can throw good darts, I can do this" possibly help
I have a HUGE prob with anylising my throw, its a very hard habbit to break and it affects my game, I know theres nothing wrong with my throw ect but I cant seem to just trust in my ability and just let it happen but I'm working on it!! |

try to approach the oche always in the same way; it helps for me...
I start walking the moment my opponent returns from the board, try to set my foot at the same spot; look up to the board and lift my hand.
It helps; it doesn't matter anymore if your opponent is quick or slow, or deliberatly teasing you, you're start is always the same. _________________ love it or leave it |
