this is not unusual. you lose concentration and focus. maybe you also tire.

there are some solutions:

- have a break when you notice your play gets worse. 10 minutes or so should be enough. think of school - there are breaks between lessons. serves the same purpose. it's also similar to matchplay / league situations, where you hardly "play through" for an hour or so. eventually you will be able to gradually improve your "concentration span".

- play "through" this slump. your darts should be "normal" - or at least better - after another half hour or hour. you will enter some sort of "automated mode", although you might lack concentration. this might not happen for the first couple of tries, but in the long run it should happen. this is a good strategy, if you prefer learning "the hard way".

- try concentration exercises. what Baz suggested, reading a book and marking your losses of focus, sounds like an interesting exercise. something where you have to keep (mild) concentration over a longer period of time - also, for instance, board games or playing cards.

there is also a similar phenomenon when you get back to practicing / playing after a longer pause. usually, after some initial problems you will play quite well pretty soon, but will play badly again after half an hour or so.
